Management Surveys -
The purpose of asbestos management surveys are to locate, as far as is reasonably practical, the presence and extent of any suspect asbestos containing materials (ACMs) in the building. It also identifies any asbestos which is damaged or could be disturbed during normal occupancy, including any foreseeable maintenance. The surveyor will assess the condition and make recommendations if work is required.
Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys -
Refurbishment and Demolition surveys only need to be carried out on the areas that will be affected, however they may result in damage to stud partition walls, plasterboard ceilings, wood riser covers, doors, raised floors, carpets, kitchens and bathrooms.
The damage caused by this type of asbestos survey is kept to a minimum, but in some cases may require reinstatement, which is not included in the survey unless pre-arranged. Asbestos refurbishment and demolitions surveys shall only be carried out if safe to do so. For example, if there are live services inside a building, access may not be possible to certain areas and may require a further visit in the future.
